This document sorts every claim into its evidence tier — designated, adjudicated, documented, alleged — updated through this week's actions, and answers the questions readers actually bring: is it behind the protests, does it fund candidates, and how dangerous is it really. A reader should leave able to evaluate any Brotherhood claim in about a minute.

The Short Version

The Muslim Brotherhood is a real movement, almost a century old, that wants societies governed by Islamic law and has spread from Egypt across the world. It is the ideological parent of Hamas — Hamas's own founding charter says so — and when Hamas massacred Israelis on October 7, the Brotherhood's leadership publicly blessed it. In 2026, the United States designated four of its Middle East branches as terrorist organizations for concrete acts: one fired rockets into Israel, another plotted with rockets and drones in Jordan. Its money-and-media hub in London is now under US sanctions. PART 6: EGYPT'S BACKDROP AND THE COUNTER-CASE [both at full strength]

  • Egypt: designated the Brotherhood a terrorist organization in December 2013 after Morsi's ouster; the mass trials and hundreds of death sentences that followed are extensively documented by human-rights organizations.   • Where the threat is adjudicated-grade: the Middle East branches and the Hamas axis. The Lebanese branch fired rockets into Israel; Jordan's produced a weapons plot; Hamas — the deadliest thing the movement ever produced — is its Palestine branch by its own charter, and the Brotherhood blessed October 7. The MB is Hamas's ideological parent and post-October 7 cheerleader, with branches now materially in the fight. That is the strongest true claim, and it is very strong
  • Where the threat is real but different in kind: the West — influence, finance, and legitimation, not operational violence. The London hub is being systematically sanctioned; France maps a 280-association ecosystem it calls an explicitly non-violent long-term threat; the fatwa machinery legitimizes mobilization.
